Most couples choose the venue first and think about food second. That order is fine, as long as you ask the venue a handful of catering questions before signing, because the answers decide what is possible on the day.
The eight questions
- Is external catering permitted, or is there an in-house caterer only?
- Is there a fee or commission for bringing in an external caterer?
- Where can a catering vehicle park, and what is the route to it?
- Are there restrictions on open flames? A gas oven is a different question from wood
- Is there a curfew on service, music or noise?
- Who supplies tables, chairs and linen?
- How late can suppliers stay on site to clear down?
- Is there a second space if the weather turns?
Why the flame question matters
Many Tuscan estates restrict open flames in summer. Our oven runs on gas, not wood, which is usually the answer a venue needs before it says yes.
Tables and chairs
We do not provide them. Most venues do, or their planner arranges hire. Confirm it early rather than three weeks before the wedding.
What we need from the venue
A drivable route, a level place to stand the truck and space for guests to collect pizza. That is the whole list. Transport anywhere in Tuscany is included in the price, so the venue's distance from Siena does not change the cost.
